Knocking it out of the park

So I find it funny that I use a baseball reference when I haven't watched a single baseball game all season.  What I have watched is football.  Surprisingly not at much as usual, but still catching all the Notre Dame and Colts games.  And for one the football gods have smiled favorably on Indiana.  Notre Dame won their bowl game which was going to happen or I was going to threaten to burn all 50 articles of clothing with their logo on it because I could not possibly bear disappointment two years in a row.  And the Colts won even though it meant nothing in the big scheme of the playoff hunt.  They're in and they're still in the 4 seed.

What does make a big difference is that for the first time, I won my fantasy football tournament!  For the past two years my brother-in-law has stolen the championship from me even though I lead the league all season long.  And this year I beat him!  Well, technically I beat him last week, but this week I won the whole shebang.  And it feels great!  I get a big belt that I'm going to hang somewhere in my house that he can see every time he comes over.  Because I'm that kind of football fanatic.  And even though this season is drawing to an end, there are still some small things to look forward to...

Like hoping that the SEC loses in over 50% of their bowl games

A win/win on the NCAA national title because either it won't be an SEC team or I get to harass my buddy Paul who is a huge Florida State fan

Like hoping that the Colts decide not to suck in the first round of the playoffs

Or at least hoping that the Patriots lose to whichever team they get to play in the second round

And finally hoping that at least if the Colts don't make it to the Super Bowl that Peyton will finally get that second ring
